Caulfield to Dandenong Project - Inner
The inner CTD section ran through Melbourne's most complex junctions and interlockings, where teams needed reliable field data and clean handover records.
Caulfield to Dandenong (CTD) - Inner
Working through Melbourne’s busiest rail sections
The inner CTD area runs from Caulfield through Southern Cross and into the Melbourne Underground Rail Loop. It includes high-density junctions, multiple interlockings, and overlapping work fronts.
On projects like this, paper records and disconnected spreadsheets quickly become a risk. Teams needed one place to track field capture, assigned tasks, and handover status.
Trax was used as that shared system.
It supported three core parts of delivery:
- Field asset capture for existing and new infrastructure
- Event-based task assignment across teams
- Structured QA closeout as each interlocking finished
The practical benefit was coordination. Supervisors could see what was done, what was pending, and where follow-up was needed without waiting for end-of-shift paperwork.
By the time closeout arrived, data was already organized. Handover was an export, not a scramble.
